 E - Karmika is a facility for Registration and Renewal of Establishments under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1961 ; which is one of the State Labour Laws and Rules being enforced by the Department of Labour, Karnataka.
The Department, as part of its functions, enforces various laws in the State which require citizens to interact with the department as part of adherence to various State and Central Enactments. The purpose of the Act is to cover the following functions of the department.
 

• Issuance & Renewal  / Amendment of Registration Certificate.
• Issuance of Duplicate Registration Certificate.
• Filing of Annual Returns.
• Exemption on weekly holiday for Shops and Establishments.
• Exemption for women working in night shift.
• Submission of Appeals.

 The main objective of the department is to enforce the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 & Karnataka Factories Rules, 1969 made there under so as to ensure Safety, Health and Welfare of the workers employed in the factories registered under the Factories Act, 1948.

The Department of Factories, Boilers, Industrial Safety and Health has two wings viz., Factory Wing and the Boilers Wing. It also shoulders the responsibility of periodical inspection and issuance of registration numbers for new boilers and renewal of certificates for existing boilers, registration of boiler & boiler component manufacturers, repairers and erectors under the Indian Boilers Act, 1923 & The Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950. It is basically a regulatory department in nature but over the years it has changed itself as service provider to meet the present day demand.

Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Workers working in the building and other construction sectors belong to the unorganized category. For the benefit of such workers, the Central Government has enacted the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996, the BOCW Tariff Act, 1996, and the Central Rules, 1998, with effect from March 1, 1996. 

Karnataka has framed the BOCW (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2006, to give due effect to the said Acts. For its implementation in 2007, the state government formed a building and other construction workers welfare board.

 The "ISMW Act" likely refers to The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979. This act in India aims to regulate the employment and conditions of service for workers who are recruited in one state and employed in another state. 

It ensures these migrant workers receive fair treatment, including equal wages, displacement allowances and safe working conditions. 

 A Trade & Municipality Licence is a permission issued by the municipal authority to carry on a specified trade or business at a particular premises. Businesses operating within Bengaluru city limits must obtain a Trade Licence where required under the applicable municipal laws other then Bangalore. 

 Every Food Business Operator (FBO) in India involved in manufacturing, processing, storing, transporting, distributing, or selling food must obtain either an FSSAI Registration or an FSSAI License, depending on the size and nature of the business.  

Operating a food business without the required FSSAI Registration or Licence can attract penalties, prosecution, or closure depending on the nature of the violation under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 

 The Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and the Rules made under it regulate weights, measures, weighing instruments, measuring instruments, and packaged commodities in India. 

The Act came into force on 1 March 2011 and replaced the earlier Standards of Weights and Measures laws. It is administered by the Department of Consumer Affairs through Central and State Legal Metrology Departments.  

 In Karnataka, Borewell drilling, Groundwater extraction and registration are governed by:

• Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011 
• The Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Rules (framed under the Act). 
• Drilling of new borewells. 
• Extraction of groundwater. 
• Registration of existing borewells. 
• Registration of borewell drilling agencies. 
• Conservation and sustainable use of groundwater.

 Udyam Registration does not automatically give every MSME every benefit. Each subsidy, loan, tender concession or government scheme has its own eligibility conditions.
